Banking overtime and short time
This window can be found
here. When an employee has worked overtime on some days and fewer than the normal hours on others, the most obvious response is to pay for the overtime and deduct money for the short time. Another approach is to create a "bank" for each employee into which overtime hours are "deposited" while short hours are debited against the bank instead of against the employee's paid normal hours, leaving the wages as they would have been in the absence of overtime and short time. Each time a payslip is created, a decision can be made whether to pay the value of any credit balance in the bank to the employee, whether to reduce the wages by the value of any debit balance in the bank or whether to add any overtime to the bank balance and debit any short time against the bank once again.
N.B. Because of the differences in rates per hour, this method cannot be applied to overtime and short time on public holidays and Sundays.
